RouterOS identifies CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+PC as CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+

Mon May 04, 2020 3:58 pm

Dear all,

routerOS mis-reports the device as the non passive cooling version; ie main difference being the CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+ to have: wider form-factor, a 1.2Ghz CPU with active cooling (fans) and dual power supply
current-firmware: 6.46.6

I am running these commands in the Mikrotik CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+PC

is this normal behavior?

Command:
/system resource print
Outputs:
board-name: CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+

Command:
/system routerboard print
Outputs:
model: CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+

I believe it is normal. I've just check a CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+-PC of mine, it is also reported to be CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ in RouterOS.

Thanks for the prompt response, much appreciated :)

I didn't pay much attention to it until last firmware update.
These two devices are very likely sharing exactly the same hardware.

Thanks

FYI,

As one of the main difference between the 2 devices are CPU frequency
I tested the following:
- downgrade my passive-cooled version of CPU speed (in system > routerboard > settings) => logs at boot and /system routerboard print are showing "cpu not running at default frequency"
- bring back CPU speed to 1Ghz => the notification messages are gone

Conclusion:
routerOS reports the passive-cooled board as it as beeing the non-passive-cooled version (which features a 1.2Ghz CPU version), but routerOS is capable of finding out what is the "real" default CPU speed between the passive-cooled version.
So all is OK - marking thread as resolved
