The first diagram shows my test set-up. With my WinBox session connected through Ethernet to the two-radio unit (.141), it displays both .140 and .142 as long as the nearer side of both links are configured as APs as shown. If the AP/ST roles are reversed for any link, WinBox cannot "see" out that link. Refer to the four accompanying WinBox screen shots to see the four combinations; whenever the side of the link nearest the source of the MNDP frames is a station, the radio beyond that is not visible to WinBox.

I'm wondering if I am perhaps not configuring something correctly or if this is a new limitation of RouterOS and Neighbor Discovery. In the field, I have many wireless links AP-->[St, AP]-->[St, AP]-->... that discover properly but there are some unavoidable situation where the WinBox side is a station and those do not pass discovery frames even though those Neighbor Lists are set to discover 'all'. Of the choices for wireless mode, I am restricted to "ap bridge" and "station wds" for necessary reasons. All radios and the Ethernet port on any particular RouterBoard are bridged:
Code: Select all
/interface bridge {
add name="wds-bridge" protocol-mode=none disabled=no;
port add interface=wlan1 bridge=wds-bridge disabled=no;
port add interface=wlan2 bridge=wds-bridge disabled=no;
port add interface=ether1 bridge=wds-bridge disabled=no;
filter add packet-type=multicast chain=forward action=accept in-interface=ether1 disabled=no;
filter add packet-type=multicast chain=forward action=accept out-interface=ether1 disabled=no;
filter add packet-type=broadcast chain=forward action=accept in-interface=ether1 disabled=no;
filter add packet-type=broadcast chain=forward action=accept out-interface=ether1 disabled=no;
}
/interface wireless set wlan1 wds-default-bridge=wds-bridge;
Any help or insight into this problem would be so appreciated!
