In general I would say that the hAP ac2 has more power.
This is what the speed tests on the Mikrotik homepage say.
It is also a 4 core processor in contrast to the hEX S which has a 2 core processor.
It depends on what you want to do with the router.
Because the hEX s has more memory and RAM.
As an alternative there is the RB450Gx4 (which is a bit more expensive) which would combine both.
Here you would have a lot of memory and RAM. And the faster processor.

Greetings

Michael

Thanks, I want the router for home use, rather to learn a little routerOS, my speed would be about 600 Mbps over the WAN
How does the amount of flash memory and ram affect me for performance?

Best bang for the buck on your requirements is the hapac2. Its $30 cheaper than the RB450Gx4 plus you will still need to buy a power source plug and case for the RBG unit.
The big difference between the two is the amount of RAM but this should not affect your WAN throughput at all.
Both will not limit your WAN speed as both should work for up to about 1 gig WAN throughput.

Go with hap ac2 (rbd52g) and and you will not regret. In case you need more ports, use rb4011.

I do not need more ports, simply for the price I had doubts between the hEX S or the hAP ac², with the second I have the extra WiFi, but it is not essential, I just wanted to know as a router which was better.
Thanks

Compare the official performance tables. Rbd52g is almost 3 times powerful in routing.

Hmm its a router not a sex toy. ;-P

Plus, the config issues will cause more pain then joy LOL. All self-inflicted mind you.
So basically if you like hurting yourself Good choice :-)

I would have recommended the RB450Gx4 instead.

I would suggest the hEX S because it’s very stable and works great. The hAP AC2 gets too hot and the wireless is a complete waste of time,

The question was IGNORING wifi, so to be consistent so should we.
The HAPAC2 has better specs period than the hex. For the money its the better choice.
The RB450Gx4 has more RAM but its specs seem nearly identical for throughput and is +$30 from the get go and you have to add the cost of case and power supply on top.

Exactly, ignoring the WiFi, because I have another router that could serve as an AP, but my flat is small so if I can take better advantage of it, I want the router to Learn routerOS
