Non-latin file names on usb

Mon Oct 05, 2020 3:26 pm

Hello

I am facing a problem regarding non-latin (specifically greek) file names. When copying any such file to the SMB server of my Microtik from my Windows 10 machine, the file is copied but with gibberish file names which the Windows Explorer can't even display - it's like the files aren't even there. From /webfig/#Files, the files are listed with gibberish file names but otherwise can be downloaded and viewed.
When copying any non-latin file names directly to the disk (a fat32 usb disk btw) and THEN attaching it to the Mikrotik, then a similar scenario follows, just instead of gibberish characters, only question marks appear. Windows Explorer can see these files (as question marks) but is unable to open them.

Is this some kind of bug, or am I doing sth wrong?

I am running RouterOS v6.47.3 on a RBD52G-5HacD2HnD router.
