UMTS Modem (E3372h)

Thu Nov 12, 2020 2:49 pm

Hello, in my company we successfully used Huawei E3372h-153 to connect several remote sites via UMTS+IPSec to HQ: the hilink mode works well, despite it's "minimum functionality"
In past, I've tried myself other models (like E3372h-320) with no success.
THe problem is that nowadays the -153 model is no more available on the market.

Before trying again with the (newer I think) -320 mode, I would like to explore the market to find out another UMTS key that can work with Mikrotik. I read the page https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Peripherals but before starting the search on Amazon, I'd like to investigate in the forum if someone knows a well-working USB UMTS in the price range of 50/60 euros available via Amazon in the EU region (I'm operating in Italy).

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience

The E3372h-320 (version 10.0.3.1) works in RouterOS 7beta, if that's any help. I'm running one as a backup internet link on my CCR1036-8G-2S+, RouterOS 7.1b1.

Thanks, nice info. Still not ready for v7, but glad to know it will work.ù

Hi / Ciao :-)

I haved your same problem. I've bought in past a E3372h-153 (and unlocked the full features) and now i needed another one. So, i've searched the OLD E3372 but without success. After more searches i've found the Alcatel IK40V-2BALIT1 that solve my problems. The Huawei has a better antenna so in the same position and same operator the Alcatel has less powerfull signal but it works very well

bye

You're wasting your time, E3372h will never work right.

Not true if you can re-flashing it with other firmware. Hardware is OK but that software is differ from every ISP/Country

It actually works on RouterOS 7.1beta5 which shows it's a software issue :-( But not sure I want to roll out a beta version to a client...
