Layer2 - s tag and C tag best practise

Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:59 am

Dear All

I am getting DSL Subscribers on one Port.

Traffic from one DSLAM is tagged with a S VLan Tag like VLAN ID 10

Customer VLANs 4 VLANS per CPE are C VLAN 8,9,10,11

If more clients come on same DSLAM every client gets 4 C VLAN ids within S VLAN Tag 10.

If a client comes from an other DSLAM that DSLAM gets next S VLAN Tag 11 and so on.

But inside the S VLAN client C VLANS also start with C VLAN Tag 8,9,10,11.

I wonder how to setup it in best way. I was thinking about a bridge using Vlan filtering.

On the end i would like to send Layer 2 Traffic out of a C VLAN Tag depending on the Vlan to a DHCP Server and or to our PPOE Server.

Like C-VLAN 8 gets translated to a S VLAN let’s say VLAN 6 wich is connected to our PPOE Server or DHCP Server to get to internet.

Equipment i could use: CRS317-1G-16S+RM or CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS
