I am trying to set up a tunnel between our HQ and Branch office using the l2tp protocol. The HQ local/bridge IP is 192.168.5.0/24 while the branch office is 192.168.9.0/24. after I activated the l2tp and configured the static route I was able to ping the gateway of each local network. I was able to ping 192.168.5.1 (HQ gateway) from the branch router and system(system IP:192.168.9.253) successfully and I was also able to ping 192.168.9.1(Branch office gateway) successfully from the HQ router and system(System IP:192.168.5.98). However, I was unable to ping the system 192.168.9.253 from HQ with a system with IP: 192.168.5.98 and vice versa. I can ping the local gateways successfully but I can't ping the systems in the local LAN. Please help me.

Instead of writing novels, post /export hide-sensitive. Use find&replace in your favourite text editor to systematically replace all occurrences of each public IP address potentially identifying you by a distinctive pattern such as my.public.ip.1.
