virtualAP through L2TP/IPSec

Sun Jan 24, 2021 3:23 pm

Hi everyone, allready asked about L2TP/IPSec multiple clients but noone answered.

Now I came on idea to make another virtual AP and all trafic from "virtual AP" forward through L2TP/IPSec client.
I allready have RB951 L2TP/IPSec server enabled and configured, and in RB941 ( I curently use as AP with vAP ) configured L2TP/IPSec client. Client is connected and running, but how to "bind" traffic from virtual AP ( MikrotikL2TP ) to L2TP/IPsec tunnel?
On RB941 I made DHCP, IP and Adress pools for both netwotk ( 1st network is: Mikrotik and virtual or 2nd is: MikrotikL2TP )

Thanks in advance.

There are a few ways to do it.

I have 2 sites that have a VPN between it. One device has to use the gateway on the other side. That's done in Mangle.

My home and office have an EoIP VPN. One SSID is bonded to the EoIP tunnel in bridges. Get on that SSID... And you are on the office network... At layer 2 as far as devices can tell.

I managed to make it via routing mark like in config.
At server mikrotik ( RB951 ) speed download 80 and upload 50 Mbps, but on Client side ( RB 941 ) Is about 6Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload.
When running "normal" SSID speed test results is close to 6 DL and 1 UP, but when Im on L2TP/IP sec SSID which is pushed through L2TP/IPSec:
Ping jump from 20 ms to 50-60 ms, and speed cannot go over 2Mbps for download and 200-300 Kbps for upload. Is there anything wrong with config?

Please anyone?
Is it possible that my tunnel is slow because at client side download is about 6 mbps and when connect on ssid with tunnel it is about 2 mbps?
I cannot even watch youtube...
But when connect to L2TP server from W10 using same profile ( user and pass ), speed is allmost close to speed of internet without VPN. Booth devices CPU is set on 750 MHz,

I make route through routingmark, I try to make bridge with L2TP/IPSec client and virtualAP, but in New Bridge Port i cannot find l2tp Client, only virtualAP.

Any Help?

Always confirm whether you are dealing with SEND ALL, or SPLIT TUNNEL.
