Performance issues with 6.48 and 6.48.1 on ARM/RB4011

Wed Feb 10, 2021 2:25 pm

Is anyone else seeing performance issues with 6.48 and 6.48.1?

I upgraded a perfectly working RB4011 from 6.47.4 which has a very simple setup - one port connected to a fiber internet line 1000 down / 500 up, the rest of the ports in a bridge and 2 VLANs on top.
The fiber connection runs over a PPPOE-Client.

I tested with:
- PPPOE client on MikroTik, NAT on MikroTik. Laptop on MikroTik
- PPPOE client on the ISP-provided router, NAT on MikroTik and again on ISP-provided router. Laptop on MikroTik
- PPPOE client on the ISP router, laptop on ISP router.

In the first two cases, download speeds never exceed 200Mbps. See below:

When trying with a large download file, every 20 seconds the bandwidth is throttled to 200Mbps, then starts to increase again before being throttled to 200Mbps again. The cycle continues through the entire download.

Unfortunately I had to revert firmware quickly so I didn't take any screenshots or supouts, so I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing it.

What is the observed behavior under 6.47.9?

Using 6,48 and 6,48.1 I am also observing performance issues on my CCR1009 [- 40% (minus) ] .... not 100% sure yet if its the firmware or other but I will be switching firmware to Long Term and do so more testing.

[EDIT] I can confirm that in my case its not the Firmware ... staying on 6.48.1 ...
