I was wondering if its at all possible to get root access on MicroTik devices without having to have an old firmware.

We would love to deploy the OmniTik AC5Poe in our installs but the routing protocol we use is not available in the stock firmware (Babel). We have successfully created a package that could be side loaded into a Ubiquiti router because they provide root access to their devices.

Is there a path to this? Root Access or a means of generating custom software for these devices.
