BGP Update Question

Sat Mar 20, 2021 2:51 pm

Dear Colleagues,

Quick question please - Is there some kind of cache TTL for BGP Announcements? And if so, where to find the option? The reason is that we always have to kill the session completely before the BGP sees new prefixes.

Thanks

New prefixes should appear as soon as they are received, maybe you mean you need to kill the session to see changes caused by adding new route filters?
Indeed there is a problem with that. It often helps to disable/enable the new filter.

There is definitely a quirk with routing filters - typically if you copy and edit an existing one instead of adding a new line and then drag it into the numerical order that you want, you don't have to shut the peering and can do a soft resend to the peer.

Thanks guys for the response but both options provided do fail. The prefix's still not announced by doing this. Any other pointers?

Thanks

You need to explain what you exactly are doing, what you expected, and what actually happens.
