PPPoE client interface: MRRU configurable => MLPPP included?

Fri Jul 27, 2007 3:26 pm

I see that we can configure the MRRU value in pppoe client interfaces.
AFAIK this is only defined/used for MLPPP interfaces. Does this mean ROS 3.0 does indeed support MLPPP now?

Best regards,

It supports MLPPP over single link. With this you can send packets bigger than lower layer interface allows

Does that mean we no longer have to use mangle rules to fix the DNS/MTU problem on PPPoE connections?

Multilink PPP should let you 'bond' 2 or more ppp connections to give you more bandwidth... is this what was added, or is it only multilink ppp within 1 tunnel?

I'd like to have 3 cable modems, each on its own interface, and create 3 l2tp tunnels back to another mikrotik at the data center. Can I bond these 3 tunnels to act as one with routeros 3.0 now (ppp bridge maybe)?

Yep, MPLS looks like it will be out shortly, but MLPPP and MFR are the next two items I am interested in.
