I'm having an issue getting useful information out of dhcp option 82. I've labed it up in gns3:
DHCP Server <> DHCP Relay <> Mikrotik Bridge w/ DHCP snooping and option 82 <> Customer device.
The bridge *will not* add the client information in. Nothing happens. Is this because it's a software bridge? I see notes than only CRS3xx models support this. Need some clarification.
If I enable option 82 in the relay, it inserts data *from the relay*, ie the relay's port info and the name I put there. This would be ok if I were relaying on the switch device and needed the port, but the 'bridge' here is meant to represent a CPE device or an AP etc. I'm expecting a MAC from the bridge device to be inserted so the customer can swap out their device.
This could happen on the CPE or on the AP or a switch (mixed wISP, fiber, MDU).
Basically the only thing I can get is from the relay.
Thoughts?
