Blocking Sites

Sat Jul 28, 2007 3:06 pm

Hi guys,

What is the best way to filter out different URLs for users operating on a PPPoE basis?

I have a few clients connected, all of them use PPPoE to dial into the server, and then get routed out. I have heard the better way is through the proxy, but can one proxy pppoe sessions? How will I do this? I need to block porn sites. On a linux server its a simple access control list. Is there such a thing with RouterOS?

Thanks.

Sorry ChildOTK,

But nobody try the search first.
That question is posted a few days ago. And i't on the first page.
You are not a first who do that on forums like this!

I just wont to say...
First try the search (play with words) then post the question!

Yeah, sorry, I am at fault there, I saw that after I had read the posts you linked to, when I went back to main.

So thanks for that. I have got it working, but now my clients are complaining that the internet is slow, do you maybe know what the possible cause for this may be?

Some of moderators on forum say that webproxy is based on sqirl proxy, and proxy is MikroTik proxy!
He say that proxy is much faster then webproxy.

I have about 100-150 users in the moment. And I don't have problems with that.

But thy to use proxy (install webproxy-test package)

Look for config here:
