Need help and advice..

Mon May 03, 2021 10:15 am

Hello, Good day...

Can I ask for help on how to setup our network properly using Miktrotik routers. It goes like this.. We have some desktop servers, IP cameras, and DVR/NVR's. CPE's like ubiquiti products - nanostations, rocket m5, lbe-ac-gen2 was setup by our supplier in 192.168.10.x network. 15-20 computers and printers in site 1. 10 computers and printers in site 2. Now site 1 has its own ISP (192.168.1.1, should be the main WAN). Site 2 has its own ISP (192.168.254.254, should be the backup). Our current setup is site 1 and 2 is connected via wireless through a pair of rocket m5 (bridge mode - AP/Station), 25kms away. IP Cameras are in site 2 with some DVR/NVR's, they are connected using a pair of NanoStations/LBE-AC-Gen2/P5B-300 CPE's. Desktop Servers are in site 1.

What I want is:
Desktop servers, IP Cameras, and DVR/NVR will be in 10.75.17.x network
CPE devices in 192.168.10.x network (We can ask the supplier if we need to change)
Site 1 workstations in 10.75.18.x network
Site 2 workstations in 10.75.19.x network

Our previous setup without mikrotik is OK, we set every computers with dual static IPs. Everyone can access to anyone in network and internet too, both in site 1 and site 2, just change the gateway in which internet you want to use. Now, I change it when I have this RB750HexGr3. So basically, all must get their DHCP lease in RB750Gr3 or no connection/internet at all, no more static IP's. I set the ARP to reply-only on bridge interface.

So currently, I set our network to 10.75.16.0/22 with 10.75.17.1 as the gateway. Ether1 port for ISP (192.168.1.0/24), ether2 is reserved, ether3 is SITE1 24 port switch, ether4 is from the RocketM5 (Which connects Site1 and Site2), ether5 is for Hotspot. I set static leases in DHCP server to all workstations and is working fine.

Now my problems are connecting to 192.168.10.1/24 network, I can't access to these CPE devices without setting static IP on my computer. Is there a way I can access these devices on my current setup? And how to set the SITE2 internet as my 2nd WAN on ether2 since I directly use the cable from RocketM5 CPE to ether4, do I need another switch on this to split it up? Or just use the option 2? (Please see attached diagram). I'm no network engineer here, need some advice. Thanks!

>> CPE devices in 192.168.10.x network (We can ask the supplier if we need to change)

I would do that, simply put a smaller subnets of 10.75.16.x IP-space between each of these bridges (eg. /29 for example) and get rid of the 192.168.10.x
You are running a /22 subnet of 10.75.16.0/22 so there is still plenty of space.

Yes, we will be changing the IP's of CPE soon.. Regarding on IP-space, I just wan't them to be separated in 10.75.* range to recognize the device easily.
