Capsman Guest Wifi Isolation Leak

Mon May 31, 2021 2:48 am

Hi,

I have discovered that isolated Guest WiFi in CapsMan lets through google home data, example: i can connect to guest wifi and managed google home that is connected to main WiFi. Although other data does get blocked, it is bothering me. Setup facts are below:
-Guest WiFi is on seperate Bridge
-Guest WiFi is on different subnet
-Tried seperation by vLan but same result
-Tried Firewal FFW blocks, it gets hits but data still goes though.

Thank you for your input. If you have a setting example that completely blocks Isolated WiFi network on CapsMan, please share.

The problem is not the data, google app see the same public IP, the same router and act accordingly...

I am not sure what you are saying in technical terms. Are you saying that google data is/should be able to pass through with exception. When I secure a device/Lan/WiFi, I need to be able to say that it is secure. With this leakage I cannot say that.

This is not leakage, if both the device can reach the google cloud, both can interact, you like this or not.
For Google they are connected to same Public IP and same Router...

I see what you mean, but Google home cannot control smart devices if not connected to the same Lan. example: when phone is disconnected from WiFi and is using Carrir's data, smart plugs wont turn on or off from Google home.
