What's the Packet Sniffer maximum file size?

Tue Jun 15, 2021 5:06 pm

Hi,

I've formated my 120GB usb drive with ext3 and set a 61.44 GB file limit in Tool Packet Sniffer. 61.44GB is 60000000 KiB (Kibibyte). I think Mikrotik uses Kibibyte for the file limit but I'm not sure.

I've started the capture yesterday night and I've checked today at 10:00. The last modification time was at 7:00 and the file size was 1200 Megabytes. I've opened Packet Sniffer and the status was: Running...

So I'm wondering why the file stopped beeing used at 7:00? Is it because of a file size limitation? Or else?

I see that ext3 file size max can be:
16 GiB for a 1 KiB block size
256 GiB for a 2 KiB block size
etc
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ext3

So normally I should be able to get at least 16 GiB. 1200 MB is kinda far from that.

Any help would be appreciated.
