Use the MikroTik smartphone app to apply the basic settings as instructed by your ISP. There is a beginner mode in the phone app.

Re: Router RB4011

After MikroTik Home wizard.... fail...

the hap ac^2 is connected by ether1 to my home network, and is working with initial settings,
I connect the smartphone and launch the app and follow the wizard for country, ssid, password, router password.
What the app do after the end of wizard:
Modified parameters of only wlan2, bu not apply SSID or password, change to station-pseudobridge:
 <! set [ find default-name=wlan2 ] ... disabled=no mode=ap-bridge ...
 !> set [ find default-name=wlan2 ] ... mode=station-pseudobridge ...

Add again this:
 !> /ip hotspot profile
 !> set [ find default=yes ] html-directory=flash/hotspot

Add kid-control, but on wizard do not is present:
 !> /ip kid-control
 !> add fri=0s-1d mon=0s-1d name=system-dummy sat=0s-1d sun=0s-1d thu=0s-1d tue=0s-1d tur-fri=0s-1d tur-mon=0s-1d tur-sat=0s-1d tur-sun=0s-1d tur-thu=0s-1d tur-tue=0s-1d tur-wed=0s-1d wed=0s-1d

add the ether1 on already existent bridge
 !> add bridge=bridge interface=ether1

alter the interface list, removing first all, then add again all interfaces on LAN and wlan2 on WAN!!!
    /interface list member
 <! add comment=defconf interface=bridge list=LAN
 <! add comment=defconf interface=ether1 list=WAN
 !> add interface=wlan2 list=WAN
 !> add interface=ether1 list=LAN
 !> add interface=ether2 list=LAN
 !> add interface=ether3 list=LAN
 !> add interface=ether4 list=LAN
 !> add interface=ether5 list=LAN
 !> add interface=wlan1 list=LAN

Move the IP address from bridge to ether1
    /ip address
 <! add address=192.168.88.1/24 comment=defconf interface=bridge network=192.168.88.0
 !> add address=192.168.88.1/24 comment=defconf interface=ether1 network=192.168.88.0

obviously at this point this message:
    /ip dhcp-client
!> # DHCP client can not run on slave interface!
    add comment=defconf disabled=no interface=ether1

the app is unable to connect again....

Hi Normis, does the basic home APP setup the default firewall rules automatically?
The app, for me, do not add or remove firewall rules, leave the default rule if presents, but do a mess with other settings...

I am not sure if the RB4011 comes with any default firewalls and is why I asked. To see if the home app installed them. That is a more accurate rendition of my question.
How do you like my quoting skills ? ;-)

Yes, the RB4011 has a default firewall. The smartphone app will keep it as it is.
You should not be using the setup wizard on an already configured device, of course running setup will "mess with it" .

I had a look at the Home APP and I noticed that it stated that I had no active router firewall under Internet. I think that is meant "no active default firewall".

Thanks Normis,
I am trying to help a chap by configuring the MT router via his smart phone (team viewer in, and using the APP), with only texting as the communication vehicle, voice not an option.
So its challenging and looking for shortcuts. We attempted to use the normal "pro app" but for some strange reason if when selecting apply and save, none of the changes were saved.
Oh well will keep trying.
