Public IP not access from local ip

Tue Jul 06, 2021 3:53 pm

I have router with the DHCP network 192.168.88.0/24
and only 1 static IP which is assigned with the ISP router via local ip address STATIC IP--->192.168.101.101

i have forwarded local IP 192.168.88.168 to 192.168.101.101 which shows the resulted page from outer networks which is fine, but when i try to open the the same page with STATIC IP while on the same network (local network) it shows no results it is just accessible with the local IP, can someone please guide what i missed and what to be added more.

I have no idea what you are asking?
Did you want to setup a server on your network??

The direction is port forward from WAN to LAN, not the other way round as well.

Finally your ISP has not given you a public IP it has given you a private IP.
YOu can find the public IP by using IP cloud and enabling it and see what IP shows up?
However, it is most likely the case that they take that public IP to a router and then share it amongst many users, so if you have a particular port requiring forwarding

a. you can request your ISP forward that port to your private WANIP OR
b. request a real public IP.

that STATIC IP is the puiblic IP i can access all over the world the route is as below
PUBLIC IP---->192.168.101.101------>192.168.88.168 (device IP)

from outside its working fine when i access the public IP the device(192.168.88.168) page appears .
all i want to do when i access the public ip from same local network it has to be appear but its not showing up, instead of local ip i want to access it via public ip too
from 192.168.88.0/24 the public ip has to be open too not just local ip which is 192.168.88.168

So you have this configuration.

Your House:
Combined ISP
Modem/Router Device [ ( ISP MODEM SIDE -----> PUBLIC IP (only your house gets this)-------> ISP ROUTER-SIDE------>STATIC PRIVATE IP ] then by ethernet cable to your MT router.

So the question becomes, can you configure at all the ISP Router portion of the combined device?
You need to be able to enter the ISP Router side via the private IP 192.168.101.101 in order to port forward the port to your WANIP.

yes i can do that on ISP router infact i forwrded this in DMZ the public IP and it starts working
the thing i need to know is how i can able to access that public ip from my local mikrotik assigned IP 192.168.88.0/24 as the device ip 192.168.88.168 redirects to 192.168.101.101 which then in DMZ goes to public IP this part is working fine, the problem is accessing the public IP from local mikrotik assigned ip addresses

Hallo,

if I understand it right, you can access the web service from all over the Worlld with your public ip address, right?
And if you try to reach the web service from your local network with public ip address than it doesn't work?

If this is the case, you need perhaps a Haripin NAT viewtopic.php?t=145534 or viewtopic.php?t=172380.
