How to access local resources via a VPN if ARP is set to reply-only (static)?

Sun Jul 18, 2021 12:24 am

My bridge ARP is in reply-only mode but I would like to access resources on my LAN when I connect via an L2TP VPN. Since the ARP is set to reply-only, I cannot set it to proxy-arp but without proxy-arp I cannot access LAN resources. My L2TP server is giving out IPs from a different pool than my DHCP pool.
Is there a solution to this problem? I would like to keep the ARP in reply-only mode and don't use my dhcp IP pool for VPN connections.

"Different IP pool" is not the same thing as "different IP subnet". If you use different subnets for the L2TP clients and for the LAN hosts, you won't need proxy-arp. If this is already the case, and the L2TP clients cannot access LAN resources despite that, it must be a firewall issue.

If so, see my automatic siganture for further steps.
