Auto Run script on reset

Fri Jul 23, 2021 2:50 pm

Hi all

Is it possible and if so how could I implement. We manage a number of devices used in customer accommodation, the problem is sometimes they fiddle and a number have been reset.

It would be nice if there was a way to run a restore if a reset is detected.

Any advise would be great thanks.

You can install your own default configuration (which gets applied after device reset) when using netinstall for "bare metal" software install ... read description of Configure script property.

@mkx described the right way to do this.

But this only works if "No Default Configuration" is not selected during the reset-configuration

Sure, almost nothing is really fool-proof. But I'd assume most tennants fiddling would simply push reset button and for that netinstall with custom configuration script is good enough. As soon as tennants get hold of admin password it's game over.

I have only just realised that some models I can disabled the reset button so that may be the easier way to go especially as a Mac user I don't have windows
