Suggestions/Feedback for multi-location interconnectivity

I'm looking for the feedback on the best way to support the following config:

1. L3 routed network (OSPF) in place and config and topolgy is as follows:

R1 ----------R2-----------R3
.............../\
............../..\
............/......\
..........R4.......R5

2. R2, R3, R4, and R5 all have Virtual APs dedicated to one enterprise user. R1 has a hardwired subnet that belongs to the enterprise.

3. R1 hardwired subnet and the Virtual APs on R2,R3,R4, and R5 need to all communicate with each other and be on the same subnet.

What is the best way to implement the config? Options I see are:
1. EoIP (or other L2) tunnels from each virtual AP back to a bridge on R1 that contains all EoIP tunnels and the R1 hardwired interface.
2. Setup up a bridge on each of the routers and use VLANs to interconnect each routers bridge.

Any other suggestions (MPLS VPNs would be an obvious choice but no support)?
