MikroTik news and rumours – Chateau 5G & cAP ac XL

Fri Aug 27, 2021 4:14 pm

In this week's video, we take a look at MikroTik's current and future product offerings. We are joined by our returning expert Attila Balogh (BAT) to discuss MikroTik's first 5G indoor router, the Chateau 5G, its main features and its justification, and the new cAP ac XL access point, which is currently under licensing.

As I put in the comments.........
The capac XL sounds like a waste of time and development. An XL should have been proper wifi5 with mu-mimo along with the better gain antennas. Its almost an insult to all of us that bought capacs being told, oh we put crappy antennas into the unit. I dont see anyone upgrading to XL from capacs. They should go straight to the EAP245 from TPLINK if they want modern wifi-5 that works and is stable, or if if they want ax wifi-6 go straight to TPLINK 620 or 660HD

Ohhh man ...
The CAPac XL isn't just disappointing but the casing is ... let say old fashioned!!
I don't expect the most Modern or complex design from mikrotik, but
the casing shown in the video is simply bad !

it will be difficult to implement them in Hotel and Corperation in a lot of American and Europeen countries.

They should have waited to have production ready wifiwave2 compatible with Capsman and released cAP AX instead.

As a side note, wifiwave2 package already contains firmware files for IPQ5018, IPQ6018 and IPQ8074 which are all WiFi 6 SoCs from Qualcomm.

The exterior design is fine, don't want them to even look like something conspicuous. However, 16mb, and lack of new specs. Well, you can see the response from their customer base.

Please Mikrotik stop releasing from this point any new WIFI devices if they dont support at least new WAVE2, or even better WIFI6..

Why release a device with such specs in q3/2021?????? A device from 2016 accidently time-travelled to 2021.

Hello, I have an ldf-r and currently Operator changed my antennas to BTS so my LDFR no longer aggregates B7 + B3. When I am next to LDF, I have about 80Mbit on my phone from B7+B1+B3+B20 and this is a greater value than on LDF. I have a question, is there any radiator for dish antenna with 4x4 to connect this to the Chetau 5g and use it?

Hi, when you quote, then edit qoute to necessery content.
LDFR have decent MIMO2x2 signals and inside is mPCIe lte module R11e-LTE6 who can do other 2CA too. But if only 3+7 is important then you can use adapter to m.2 and install Quectel EM160R-GL, EM50x series and have a 5G with that combination.

I have about 80Mbit on my phone from B7+B1+B3+B20 and this is a greater value than on LDF.
phone with lte category who have 4CA not should be compare to 2CA device who cannot do 2CA.
This is proof that phone with weak antennas, compare to LDFR, can reach 80Mbps means you not have a problem with a signals but with lack of additional CA options.
And I not know if you not test a phone at LDFR installation or just inside home.. but this bring new opportunity.

I have a question, is there any radiator for dish antenna with 4x4 to connect this to the Chetau 5g and use it?
KB LTE from my signature > 2. Antennas > quwireless.com - they have good 4x4 5G antennas. At wisp.pl you can buy them as distributor.
