LHG LTE6 is not providing promising speed (Help me please!!)

Thu Sep 02, 2021 2:25 pm

Hi All,

I am from India and a newbie to Mikrotik product. I do have Huawei 5G CPE Pro as my primary router for internet.
The reason I purchased LHG LTE6 router is to have the consistency over internet speed for remote locations. Huawei 5G CPE pro provides min 65 to 90 Mbps with 40+40 CA with a ping ranging 40 to 80.

However it fluctuates a lot and switches between the Cell ID very frequently. That causes me drops in Microsoft Teams Calls. In Huawei 5G CPE Pro we don't have any option for Cell ID Lock option.
In order to avoid this situation, had came cross LHG LTE 6 and purchased it which has long range antenna and the reception capability is more.
The ISP is Jio which uses only LTE bandwidth and has 3,5 and 40. LHG LTE 6 is well compatible with CA for 3+5 and 40+40. CAs are getting very consistent with the Cell ID as shown below.

Please can anyone guide me what needs to be done to minimise the ping in LHG LTE 6 and boost the speed? it would be a great help.
Thank you in advance.

hi,

try to upgrade your device to recent ROS v6.48.4 and upgrade the lte firmware, try that first and report back

[admin@MikroTik] > interface lte firmware-upgrade lte1 upgrade=yes

Please also post an export file for your device

However it fluctuates a lot and switches between the Cell ID very frequently.
It is the provider "radio resource management" that switches your SXT to a different band. Normally this gives you the best (strongest???) signal.
If some bands do not give the expected throughput I disable that band in the SXT. e.g. in this case disabling B3 and B5 will make your SXT only negotiate for B40.
The reverse can be true, the 20MHz wide B40 might in practice be worse than the B3 and/or B5.

With "eNB ID 2846" for all bands I conclude they come from the same tower. Sometimes one can avoid a problematic tower if not all towers use the same bands.

CQI should be 15 for optimal performance. A low CQI like 6 is almost unusable in my case.

Additionally,
indoor Huawei 5G Pro2 vs external RB with LTE module at category 6 who can do 2CA...

Maybe you should buy external antenna for Huawei what give better signal and maybe then he not be flapping.
But now I must please you to fix picture because I not see them and not understand properly this case.

Please upgrade a firmware 028 your R11e-LTE6 by:
/interface lte firmware-upgrade lte1 upgrade=yes
