Tx/Rx sfp / sfp+

Wed Sep 15, 2021 11:27 pm

Guys, good afternoon!

I have one question...

We have some hosts using interfaces sfp / sfp+, but it's not showing to me the tx and rx for these interfaces.

This is normal? If not, can someone help me make it appear?

The version of my Rb's are 6.41.3 and 6.45.8.

Thx guys, and if have some errors in my text, sorry it's because i don't speak english.

Am not sure but i think it depends on the SFP module used...
I' ve noticed my self that for some SFPs i do get that information and for others i don't ( on same CRS3xx device ), for different SFP modules...

It does. Originally SFPs only provided static configuration data to the host, later dynamic data (voltage, current, power, etc.) was added as an option so only those SFPs which incorporate digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM), also known as digital optical monitoring (DOM), make this available. Additionally for copper SFPs laser bias and power have no meaning so would not be present, even if the SFP has DDM.
