Ip cloud behind "gray" IP

Fri Sep 24, 2021 1:11 pm

Dear Mikrotik.
Will Mikrotik have a cloud server with a domain for connecting remotely for a Nat provider ???? I install Mikrotik equipment and recently quite a few clients of small companies that do not have a white IP have been asking about remote access to the device behind a NAT provider. Mikrotik has its own DDNS, but it is impossible to connect to it remotely without a white IP. Because of this, customers preferred keenetic. It is very disappointing that such companies as kenetic, tp-link have this function, but the beloved Mikrotik does not ...

sorry for my English

Your English is fine, it's just your choice of terms that gives a hint regarding your native language :)

The issue with those tunneling solutions is that they are expensive - to get acceptable round-trip times, you need to run tunneling servers in multiple hostings around the world. So if you have multiple customers in the same geographical area, the best option may be to run such a server for them on your own. A single CHR running on a public IP in a datacenter (or a redundant pair for reliability) is sufficient to create tunnels for tens of customers. It must be a "tunnel in tunnel" solution anyway, so you can make the customer's IT staff responsibile for the security on the inner tunnel. The MTU of the inner tunnel will be terrible, but that's no different to the solution of those other vendors.
