I think you may try with 'ip proxy direct', where you may specify what to resolve directly and what by parent-proxy.

Dear Skynoc,

you have two proxy server, both of them are MT OS or other operating OS like linux? If you have 2 MT OS then why u want to separate http and other files like exe. mgp. zip etc? you can use 1 MT for your normal NAT and other firewall setting, and with 2nd MT OS you can make that only as a web proxy, I'm using this kinda setting in my network and having great performance with my web proxy. I have told about this in the "Mikrotik + Web Proxy Queueing is Impossible?" topic. but I think none have any faith on my solution huh huh huh.

N.B: You can also user your proxy server with linux(squid), it'll also work just fine.

Thanks

i have an MT box with web proxy > parent proxy redirected to an external proxy server (win2003 and isa with downlink via satellite) serves the http requests
what i want to do is to make another proxy server which serves only the download of files
i know a satellite provider can give us 16 mbit downlink for 150 euro monthly .

I don't think Squid or any other proxy will comunicate properly with Win2003's ISA. Your best chance is to use Linux with Squid or RouterOS.

do you think it is better to replace the win2003 + isa with redhat + squid ?

Yes, but not with Red Hat, unless you're willing to pay $1000 or whatever for an enterprise license. Use Ubuntu Server + Squid.

Hey man, Red Hat linux Ver.9 is more then fine for this solution, no need to buy any expensive server for it.

RedHat 9 is seriously outdated and insecure and has reached End of Life for ages.

Squid packages might be insecure and exploitable. You can use debian or even ubuntu-server, and that actually works on a low-end computer like 233Mhz with 128MB of ram or something similar.

Please stop instructing users to install redhat 9. Even the fedora legacy project shut down.
