3.0rc9 PPTP server trouble

Sat Oct 27, 2007 6:50 pm

I have about 10 online pptp users. but in some time, there appears numbers of <pptp-xx> interfaces, and in Log I see the following:
Clipboard01.jpg
no TCP connection establishments, no disconnects - just errors on non-existing interfaces. during this, clients receive error 800 (server timeout) immediately after trying to connect.

when i disable and then re-enable PPTP server, clients receive error 800 not immediately, but after some seconds

I have the same problem with RB333 and rc5,rc6,rc7,rc8,rc9.
Happends:

1.) User authentificated, interface UP - ITS OK !
2.) User authentificated, interface NOT UP - THIS IS BAD ! (I see only "D" in status column, interface not registered !)
3.) Another cases - Users are getting errors like 619 (port closed abnormaly), 691 (login/pass error - even we use correct pass), 806 error (didnt saw this error before).

After reboot - it works again. Some times it works 5 hours ok sometimes it works only 10 minutes. Then again we have to restart it so users can authentificate...

Please check this - Thanks.
Also - all people which have same problem - please write to these thread - so we all know it is a problem and not some HW case or misconfiguration.

THANKS 2 ALL !

Andy

well, I see in your log only pptp-0 and pptp-1... but in my case, there are numbers of interfaces, and in Log I can also see message, that limit to 200 clients (level 4 license restriction) is reached... but I have maximum 20 clients on that server =(

It seems like mikrotik is not closing incorrectly closed connections (like firewall blocked) or when user lost connection due to some other problem. After some time mikrotik dont allow create any new connection.

I paid for a release, not for a beta. But I think MT needs the FEEDBACK of betatesters. If they need more information I will try to provide them, but communication is not a one way road. I will help to make MT 3.0 OS good and stabil but I expect a response.

3.0 is not beta. it is release candidate. MT installs ROS 3.0rc on its new routerboards
