Funny thing about the Realtek gigabit chipset is, that it not even recommended
by MT themself. See their driver list in the manual (MT v.2.8 ):
http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2. ... erlist.php
Chipset type: RealTek RTL8169 PCI 10/100/1000Base
* RealTek RTL8169 Gigabit Ethernet (not recommended: may lock up the router)
In the MT v2.9 manual it was removed after releasing the RB44G. Short time after the
new RB44G it was still there ... checked it because we could not believe they used that
chipset for their new PCB.
We use Intel and have never had any problems so far.
