What type of server to use for clients?

Fri Dec 14, 2007 1:45 am

Hi all, I want to connect up to 100 clients to 3+ mikrotik routers and using smartbridge airbridge units for CPE's However i am trying to figure out what to use for authentication, user managment, accounting etc etc. Should i use hotspot? Radius? PPPoE? for only these amount of clients which is best, they are all wireless connection no ethernet, roughly 1-6 miles away. I havent yet been able to get hotspot running nore PPPoE, how hard is radius ? I know it runs on a seperate server, but for this amount of clients is it needed? IF i had to i would do accounting manual.... I just need a good authentication method, and a secure network i can keep track of my customer usages with. What do you all suggest? Thanks in advance. -Jordan
