Explanation of 3.0 RC 13 wireless Tx/Rx rate values?

Mon Dec 17, 2007 7:47 pm

An 3.0 RC13 AP is showing things like "12Mbps/4/6Mbps/4" as value for Rx/Tx rate.
What's the meaning of those additional values?

when you are using the 5MHZ band it shows as /4 (one quarter the standard bandwidth) while the 10MHZ band shows as /2 (half the standard bandwidth).

It makes some sense, after all.

So what does SP mean? Seems to be only on 2.4 when AP and client are both Mikrotik.

eg TX/RX rate = 11Mbps-SP/11Mbps-SP

SP = Short Preamble
LP = Long Preamble
