thank you for your answer. but i culdn't do that...

[customer's PC]--------------[HotSpot]-----------[router2+ProxyServer]-----[Internet]

the problem persists if customer set up internet explorer to use as a proxy server [Proxy Srever] from diagram above. In this case customer/user cannot be authenticated. It's because HotSpot web interface is on routers LAN and if customer uses proxy server, only WAN interface is visible and customer cannot be authenticated at least.

enable ip proxy and forward the port 80 to ip-proxy port using firewall mangle (Make it at first before dynamic). Then use the parent proxy in ip-proxy

hope this could solve your problem.

Hi chvdr,

Yes .. it is working as transparent proxy .. if you are not looking for transparent proxy configuration, and still need the users to configure there browsers. Then you should check 2 things:
1- Users are able to access the proxy server.
2- Proxy port is not blocked by a firewall in the middle.

To check that, using your windows prompt command, just write:
telnet x.x.x.x port

where x.x.x.x is the proxy server IP and port is the Proxy port used .. check what is the replied message, if you get no errors, then the server is accessible .. otherwise & if you are able to use the proxy server directly on your internal network (directly connected to proxy with no MT in the middle) but still not possible to use it on your subscribers network, then you have to check the server IP,subnet if you can configured the Proxy server on different private IP class then you need to route the traffic, natting or adding bridge.

And for sure, don't forget to check the firewall for the ports.

Hope this help. And let me know then which is better, easier and useful .. to use transparent proxy or manually configured on each browser. :?

Best Regards.

aprpos (btw):

we talking about network w/o that MT ROS in it. some people wrote proxy settings on browser, but not every users. there are 300 customers.

now we want to separate some group (several) with hotspot routers on 2-3 places to decrease broadcast and so on... or in one weord, mt ros shuld be placed, but some people (or several houndred of them) have manually written proxy settings...

thats the problem

So, you can use the same as I mentioned above ..
In case you want to use Transpaernt proxy for hotspot users, don't forget to check the transparent proxy option in the users profile. Otherwise, you can ask the hotspot users also to use the proxy and configure it manualy !

users uses proxy at this moment. and it's manually configured. now we want to separate them from proxy with mtros hotspot included.
