interface errors not in SNMP

Wed Apr 23, 2008 8:24 pm

Hi,
I am using Version 3.7 in a PC x86 with 2 NICs.
Speed is set to auto in both, and the switches are in auto too.
By browsing the interfaces with SNMP, I got 0 ( zero ) errors in Tx/Rx Error Packets Counters (IfInErrors/IfOutErrors).
But the switch itself is incresing error counters in the port where the NIC is attached. :(

Is this a bug of this version?

How can I get the counter of the NICs in the Mikrotik Router Itself ( besides SNMP! )??

Regards,

hello,

i have noticed that since we have upgraded to 3.x i have no error stats anymore. it was all fine in 2.9.x. i assume that a bug or simply not priority to MT.

Ethernet errors can be unidirectional (as in, device A sees no problem, but device B does). Check to see if the MT and the switch are actually negotiating and operating in full-duplex mode. A duplex mismatch could cause one-way errors (late collisions, etc). Even if this is not the problem, the errors still can really be one-way and there is nothing wrong with the MT reporting that it sees no errors. Also consider replacing the cable, swapping physical ports on the switch and the MT, etc.

Can confirm.
interface errors grow, LOG trows FCS, but the OID's remain at zero.
