i have found some information about how to give voip priority on the network. i understand the marking and do have success there and also have a queue in queue-tree for the marked packets with priority 2. this is the only queue in queue-tree on my router and i have set the parent to "global-total". is that correct or do i need a queue-tree for each interface ? would a queue in simple-queues work as well ?

If you set global-total then only one queue is required. And yes, simple queue also will work if set properly.
