Mangle P2P traffic still not working

Fri May 23, 2008 4:53 am

HI all,

I've been struggling with P2P traffic limiting, somehow some traffic were not trapped (mangled) why?
When i do torch, there are alot of ports > 6000, most likely P2P. Checked with client, that they are using limewire.
Using ROS v. 2.9.51 (not in hurry to move to v3 as yet:D)
Thanks.

here is my config:
14   ;;; Mark P2P Traffic
     chain=forward action=mark-connection new-connection-mark=P2P - Conn passthrough=yes
     p2p=all-p2p

15   chain=prerouting action=mark-packet new-packet-mark=P2P passthrough=no
     connection-mark=P2P - Conn

chain=forward action=mark-connection new-connection-mark=P2P - Conn passthrough=yes
p2p=all-p2p

Make the chain=prerouting

You should mangle first traffic that is running on known ports, like HTTP, MAIL etc.

Then mangle all other traffic an make priroity.

Make the chain=prerouting
Done that, not working neither...

It's one way of doing. But isn't that there're too many ports that need to be marked (eg, gaming ports)
and won't lots of mangle rules make the cpu works more?

Thanks anyway ;)
