still not clear on MAC passthrough in a hotspot...

Wed Apr 13, 2005 10:58 pm

I am used to using WSG and ISG gateways from Handlink. They have a MAC Passthrough table that I simply go into, add the MAC and poof! No more portal or radius auth for that client.

I am not understanding how to accomplish this in MT 2.8 :?:

Must I create a src nat, dst nat, and mangle rule for every single client!?

We have a multi-tennet unit that has some wired clients (those that I want to have passthrough to the net without authentication) and wireless clients (those that pay per minute or hour).

Can someone please give me a full break down all in one thread as to how I can do this!!?? I have tried a few other threads and the guide, but no success...

Thanks in advance, need to get this going ASAP...i have no accountability on my wifi side at the moment!

Yes you have to add a rule in Firewall Mangle. Add mangle rule, add the user Ip adress in Src adress,
action: accept
flow mark: hs-auth
Than the user should connect without hotspot authentication

Enable 'Auth. MAC' and 'Auth. MAC Password' enter the user's MAC Address as his 'username' and 'password' and he should be let through without the login screen.
