howto give all sip and skype traffic high priority ?

Tue Dec 09, 2008 4:15 pm

hi @ all,

i am intending to setup our network to make it sip and skype friendly. as a first step i have tried to mark packets matching the connection-type=sip. the problem is that the counters do not show any matching packets even if i actually make a sip phone call. any suggestions ?

has anyone have a working setup to match on skype traffic and give that priority ?

regards
Jan

You can get the list for l7 on the wiki.

i have used some l7 patterns successful from here: http://l7-filter.sourceforge.net but i cant get the sip pattern to match anything. skype seems to match at least something, there is one for skype-out and one for skype-2-skype.

well, i have tried the wiki. but it seems to have no full-text search or i might simply be too stupid to use it. i keep getting this error "No such special page" if i type something like "layer-7" in the seach box.
