1. I want to minimize the download speed for all users (example 1 kbps / 2 kbps) only at the time of download torrent movies, files etc.

2. I want to block voice chat on yahoo, Skype, MSN for some users.

Please suggest how to do it.

you can't slow down torrents, only block them. use the firewall filters with l7 matchers:

no you can't, because torrent traffic is encrypted.

it's not possible too. Skype is not less encrypted than Torrent =)

the only solution for a really paranoid network would be to force everyone to use a custom proxy port (not transparent) and block everything else. also you could allow access only to certain websites.

It's propably easier to give higher priority to traffic you can identify and give lower to anything else...

you cannot classify encrypted traffic - encrypted traffic is just garbage with no patterns

you can mark all known traffic and suppose that all the rest is torrents, skypes, etc., and limit it
