we have a pppoe server with external radius authentication. I just found out that the "only one" setting in the pppoe profile does not work. There is a user that logs in from different places (wireless) with the same username.

What is that setting for then?

I need to get this working since we want to prevent users from using the same account.

'only one' is for local authentication. if you use RADIUS, then RADIUS should block simultaneous connections
