Adding a Framed Route to a PPPOE Interface

Fri Apr 17, 2009 6:08 am

Hey All,

I have found a few unresolved similar forum threads, and though if I could create a clear "howto" thread at the same time as resolving my issue it would prove very useful.

I have a /29 Framed route provided to me by my ISP that I am trying to add to a PPPOE Interface on my Mikrotik (2.9.50)

The PPPOE Interface has a auto assigned static IP,
Address: xxx.xxx.218.43
Network: xxx.xxx.255.47
Broadcast:
Interface: PPPoE

I am a little confused as to how I should be setting the routing up for the additional IP addresses,
do I simply add the IP address range xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/29?
do I add the IP Addresses Individually?
for routing do I use the gateway from the existing PPPOE interfaces gateway?
do I bind them directly to the PPPOE interface or the ETH port the modem is connected to, or use bridges?

As you can tell still get used to the Mikrotik OS, absolutely loving the functionality though

Did I ask the question in the right place? Is there somewhere else I can look?
