ROS 3.22 - Dell PowerEdge 860 - Locked out

Hi,

i am running ROS 3.22 on a sDell PowerEdhe 860 with these specs:

free-memory: 1011752kB
total-memory: 1035976kB
cpu: "Intel(R)"
cpu-count: 4
cpu-frequency: 2400MHz
cpu-load: 2
free-hdd-space: 918964kB
total-hdd-space: 988244kB
write-sect-since-reboot: 3120
write-sect-total: 3120
architecture-name: "x86"
board-name: "x86"

Running ROS from Adonics SATA-CF HDD ADAPTER and TWIN MOS Ultra-X CF card.


I have a problem that the computer runs, but after days (very from 10-30 days) functions in Winbox or telnet stops responding.

I can no go to Winbox -> Files and press backup. Then i get an error that says it is invalid.
And if i make rules in firewall after this happens the rules disperse after reboot of the ROS.

And now i can't login after 30 days. It keep saying it is the wrong password. But if i force reboot it i get access with the password.

Any body know what can be wrong?

you should upgrade to v3.24 and after this repeats, make supout.rif file IMMEDIATELLY after rebooting it. This file will help MikroTik Support to find out what's wrong

Hi,
i am running ROS 3.22 on a sDell PowerEdhe 860 with these specs:
Running ROS from Adonics SATA-CF HDD ADAPTER and TWIN MOS Ultra-X CF card.
While it's doing this, see you can login as admin with no password.

We've seen similar issues on PE860 (and other x86) running Addonics SATA-CF adapters. Several were tracked to a bad solder joints on the CF adapters. On another we suspect someone removed the CF and re-inserted it while the router was online. Not sure exactly what happens, but all seemed related to loss off connectivity with the CF.

Hi!

Sorry for the delay. I have been on vecation.

I upgraded now to 3.25 today and made a supout file. (Attached).

I will keep you updated if this happens on this release to. I might take 20-30 days.

Send that to support@mikrotik.com. YOu could also use a "Made For Mikrotik" Product and you would not have to worry about such issues!

Hi again,

this seemed to work fine in 3.25

But the problem is back now in 3.28 & 3.30.....

I can make rules in firewall and change settings, but i can't take Backup of configuration or run a export file command in terminal..

export file="MikroTik-Router-ROS_v3_30-12112009"
file operation error

Well, if you mean there is a problem with the physical disk.. then i would say no. The issue should of been there in 3.25 to if that was so? And it wasn't. :?

I had it running for over 100 days with no problems, but as soon as i upgraded to 3.28 it started to stop working after 1-4 weeks...

Same after 3.30 upgrade...

Seem like i can't change settings now to after 2 weeks of uptime to....
Can only log in with admin and no password to...
