I just can't figure out how to get the two messengers working with all their popular features. It seems, that the Windows Messenger has less problems than MSN. Generally, chat works, but sound, video etc. don't.

I am sure, that the problem is NAT traversal. I have enabled UPnP on te border gateway (the router with NATted interface), but so far without luck. The MT-documentation is sparse in this area - and so is the M$-documentation as well.

Please help - if somebody knows how...

mikrotik doesn't work with msn video and voice conferencing. UPnP doesn't function properly. Mikrotik doesn't seem to care....

Although I don't do this with Mikrotik, I have had the same problem with numerous NAT products and the only way round it I've found is to setup a Proxy/Socks server with a Public IP and setup Messenger to run though it.

If I get chance this weekend I'll give it a go through the Mikrotik box I have and let you know the results...
