MT announced to give better transmit-power readings for .n in next beta.I bought a r2n , but in the winbox ,THE biggest power shows 20db, why? the sheetdata is 25DB, Please tell me!!
Can you please explain this for me. The spec sheet shows that for 802.11 g this card has a power rating of 25db. In order to get it to transmit at this power you have to select both chains even though 802.11 g is single chain? And if you don't have an antenna connected to the 2nd chain, you will damage the card?both chains have to be selected, for the correct power to be shown.
That's confusing. According to the spec sheet, the power output drops 2db's for 802.11n when compared to 802.11g.the given power is the maximum power. maximum power can be achieved by using both chains. 802.11g is an inferior technology, it can't use both chains like 802.11n so it doesn't work at cards potential maximum
with one chain, roughly 3dbm less will be possible.
