MT announced to give better transmit-power readings for .n in next beta.
R2N is different as it has 2 channels.

2 channels would indicate a hit of half power = ~3db
This would indicate that 22db should be available.

If I am wrong please educate us as to why this would not be true.

connect both antennas and configure your card accordingly for maximum output power.

also, check your regulatory domain settings and limitations in local laws.

both chains have to be selected, for the correct power to be shown.

Can you please explain this for me. The spec sheet shows that for 802.11 g this card has a power rating of 25db. In order to get it to transmit at this power you have to select both chains even though 802.11 g is single chain? And if you don't have an antenna connected to the 2nd chain, you will damage the card?

the given power is the maximum power. maximum power can be achieved by using both chains. 802.11g is an inferior technology, it can't use both chains like 802.11n so it doesn't work at cards potential maximum

with one chain, roughly 3dbm less will be possible.
That's confusing. According to the spec sheet, the power output drops 2db's for 802.11n when compared to 802.11g.

in each data-rate the tx-power could be different - that is normal.

Okay, just explain to me how to get the card to transmit at 24dBm for 802.11g 6Mbit like the spec sheet says it can. If it's not possible then the spec sheet needs corrected.

Enable both chains (connect both antennas) and then observe the tx-power section - you will see that the total power is 24.

Enable both chains
? Then it's no longer 802.11g.

yes it is. only both antennas will be used together, as one antenna.

Normis, then with N plates must be used only dual antennas for maximum performance, regardless of the selected standard. Right?
