GPS Problem

Tue Oct 20, 2009 4:11 am

Hi all

Has anyone had problems with the GPS before?
When i plug my GPS in, it all works fine... but after some time i just freezes!

And i'm running RouterOS 3.30 also try'd with 4.0 and 4.1 no luck!

This is from my RB411U:
[admin@MikroTik] > /system gps monitor
  date-and-time: oct/19/2009 05:34:18
      longitude: "E 8 xx' 2''"
       latitude: "N 56 xx' 52''"
       altitude: "32.500000m"
          speed: "0.037040 km/h"
          valid: yes
Then i unplug the USB GPS from the board and plug it back in...
Because i can't disable it and enable it again on the RB411U like i can on the Soekris for some reason?
[admin@MikroTik] > /system gps monitor
  date-and-time: oct/20/2009 00:55:56

       altitude: "26.400000m"
          speed: "0.277800 km/h"

I runs from 1 hour to 20 hours before it freezes again :(

 2 2:7 Prolific Technology Inc. USB-Serial Controller D 12 Mbps
This is the 2. USB GPS that i've try'd with (and they both run with no problem in OSX and Windows for weeks).

Any solutions?

I want to weigh in on the GPS not working using X86 ROS. It is working correctly, when I move the GPS receiver output to a RB433AH so the GPS itself is working. I have installed the GPS pkg in the X86 box, and it seems to configure correctly. I am using ROS 4.2 in both devices.

Do you also get the data spas'em? when using the "serial-terminal" command?
I'm still waiting for an answer form Mikrotik now 5days after my last report...
