Hello folks, have are you all?
Didn't come here for quite some time, to be honest, didn't had a reason, everything is working great!
I think after 5 years of using Mikrotik I can say that it is the best option whatsoever
I would like to suggest three features that could be very popular.
Feature No.1 NAS
Network-attached storage - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Attached_Storage
I find this very useful to have, specially for home users. They can attach their USB Hard drives and share them in home network.
NAS uses very little resources and it's not hard to implement.
It could also bring new customers as many people are looking for solution (currently popular openwrt etc.)
Feature No.2 Hamachi network
Hamachi network LogMeIn (or make your own service and charge it)
This is popular service that I and many of my friends are using. Hamachi network client gives you option to install their virtual interface
on which you may receive public IP address so that others PC on the web can have access to you.
There is a linux client, imagine it installed on Mikrotik RouterOS, you enter username and password, it receives Public IP from hamachi,
NAT it to your local IP (let' say Laptop) and that's it, you have same Public IP where ever you are.
This is awesome, specially on masqueraded networks where you can't obtain Public IP address.
This way, we can host our game server to play with friends...or anything else.
Feature No.3 DynDNS
It would be great if there could be support for dynamic dns.
OK, I administer more than 10 important Mikrotik Core Routers spread all over the world and I forbid access
to them by allowing only my home and office IP addresses.
Unfortunately, I've came so many time in to situation to be out of the office and my IP was completely different.
Imagine if I could put my DynDNS address in access list?
This way, I could access from anywhere, regardless my IP address!!!
OK, I hope I didn't throw at you to many suggestions, but if you think of it, they are all cool and useful.
I would like you to think about this and give me some reply, negative or positive, with some comments.
Looking forward to you reply
P.S. Normis, is that mouse still working
