RouterOS with Axiomtek NA-820 LCD

Tue Nov 03, 2009 5:12 pm

Does anyone here know how to get an LCD on an Axiomtek NA-820 hardware appliance to work with RouterOS?
I´ve found this http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... t=axiomtek post from 2008, but
there is no answer.
I have also asked the guys from Link-Technologies that are using this applince for the PowerRouter, but they
told me ty buy a PowerRouter instead to use a non-tested and unsupported device....

Is there anybody out there that can help me?

Greetings from Germany

Ivan

PS:
The non-tested and unsupported device is running perfectly with the RouterOS.
Only the LCD is not running yet.

I dont see the specs for the LCD listed,,,,

I belive it is a USB device (USB to serial converter)...

Look at the system/resource/USB menu in winbox for a USB to serial converter...

If it listed ( I think it will be,,,) then look under ports, for a USB device..

This should be the USB/ Serial port that the LCD is using.

Try setting the baud rate on the USB port to 9600,no par, 8 data,1 stop

Set the LCD to use the USB interface...

Enable the LCD package (check box). then enable one or two display selections...

You may need to play with the baud rate settings....

But this should be the short of it..

Hi Craig,

sorry for the late response, I was very busy the last days.
It is a serial LCD. I can see it on serial port 2 and the LCD package
is loaded and configured. But I get only cryptic things on the LCD.
I have also tried a lot different parameters (9600,no par, 8 data,1 stop)
but didn´t find the right one. I´m also not shure if I have to restart the
system when I change one of the parameters, because I can´t see a
real difference when I change something.

It would be nice to get the LCD running, but if not it would be not such a
issue, because the system is working very good.

Best Regards

Ivan

Hi to all,

no new status yet, the LCD is not running. But the ROS ist working
perfectly on this hardware. Have two boxes running now for 4 months
without problems.

Are you located in the US? Axiomtek put me in touch with a distributor in California. I could give you their contact info.

There's a hardware installer's manual here, which has a few pages on how to set the text display of the NA-820 LCD. It's one of those ESL-written things, so it can be maddingly vague and confusing at times, but it's a start. I have not tried it:

Good Luck! :?

1 X 5s System resources - cpu and memory load
2 X 5s System uptime
3 X 5s Aggregate traffic in packets/sec
4 X 5s Aggregate traffic in bits/sec
5 X 5s Software version and build info
6 X 5s ether1

[admin@MikroTik] > port print detail where name="serial1"
Flags: I - inactive
 1 name="serial1" used-by="LCD Panel" channels=1 baud-rate=9600 data-bits=8
     parity=none stop-bits=1 flow-control=hardware
[admin@MikroTik] > /system lcd print
   enabled: yes
      type: ax89063
      port: serial1
  contrast: 0
I'm not sure if hardware flow-control is neccesary, but it works for me.

OK, I will try... Thank You for this information!

Didn´t seen the ax89063 option before, but it´s available till 4.10.
This is new for me.

What's new in 4.10 (2010-May-28 13:59):
*) lcd - added support for AX89063

Greetings
