SNMP service problem?

Wed Jul 06, 2005 12:09 am

Does SNMP service works on 2.9rc6 ? I am not able to read from MT any data. There was no problem on 2.8 .

Working fine here ... at least for reading interface values. Not sure about other OIDs. My MRTG graphs are still reading in/out values for the different interfaces though.

Yes, it works !!!

I am connected through PPPoE tunel to the MT and when trying to read SNMP from PPPoE connection, it does not work. When trying to read SNMP from "outer" network, it works. Is it possible?

Does your input chain allow snmp access from pppoe interface?

There is new feature in 2.9, "tool graphs".
It works similar :D
It is easier in configuring, and web checking also available, by router_ip/graphs.

Is the interface you are querying a dynamic interface? You should always query a static interface / ip on the mikrotik for snmp - snmp service might not bind to changing ip addresses. Also, you might be able to setup a redirect rule to make it work, however querying the permanent interface address should work fine. It works here with no problems on rc6.
