Deleted Static Routes Reappearing ROS 4.4 (x86)

Wed Dec 30, 2009 3:56 pm

I seem to keep getting previously deleted static routes reappear after a system reboot. Can't figure out why. Currently using ROS 4.4 (x86).

It is very strange case. Do you have anything specific on your configuration? Is there any clue how to reproduce the same issue on our routers?

Nothing special other than one IPSec link. After exporting all to a .rsc file, and doing a reset-config, I reloaded the .rsc file , re-imported the certificates for the IPSec link, and all seems to be working without the phantom routes showing up. One note, it is very easy to get the IPSec link screwed up unless you import the certificates in the same order as you previously had listed in the IPSec Peers dialog box. That had me a bit confused for a few minutes till I remembered I imported them in the opposite order as I had originally. It's not very intuitive to use "cert1" or "cert2". Any chance of basing the name off of the certificate itself?

Thanks,

-tp

You can change the name of the certificate after import.

/certificate set 0 name="vpn_1"

I have the same issue on a RB493AH. Static routes that were deleted are coming back on 4.4 after a reboot.

I've seen this on a RB433AH box too with 4.4. I removed a secondary default route, rebooted, and it showed up again.

I did notice that while deleting one of the static routes, the delete command (via SSH cli) hung for a bit before completing, and on another 4.4 RB411 (or was it a 433?) box, a static route removal timed out completely.

So I wonder if perhaps this is related.

Here's my latest attempt at old default route removal:
[admin@RB433AH] > /ip route print

[admin@RB433AH] /ip route> /ip route remove 2
action timed out - try again, if error continues contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (13)

In the case of the old default route I was removing above, the 10.50.60.0/24 network and IP address had already been removed from the MikroTik. I don't know if that is relevant or not.

Also, AFTER the command times out, doing another "/ip route print" will NOT show the removed route. It appears to be deleted, although it will reappear again after reboot.

When others have encountered this problem, did any of you have the command time-out?

Aaron out.

This seems to still be happening.
Deleted routes reappear after system reboot ( like ghosts from the past  )
