iPass Success Stories?

Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:46 am

Hi Mikrotikers,

We're in the process of setting up a test network to join onto iPass, We've got the application form and many of their documents and are working our way through. I see some references to XML hotspot pages, GIS Specification and RADIUS Realms within the forum. But no one really saying "Hey Great!, worked for me" from a business or technical perspective.

Anyone out there joined iPass, got any lessons learned to share?
Any success stories?
Any tips or tricks from a technical perspective?

We're thinking we're going to setup a seperate VAP and Hotspot purely for iPass. This would seem like the simplist solution, but means we may loose some coverage when using AP's that extend coverage around a building with no VAP support.

Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks All

It pretty much just works out of the box. When you customize the HTML structure make sure to leave the xml directory intact. Make sure you proxy RADIUS to the iPass servers either straight on the router or on your own RADIUS server.

Thanks Very much for your feedback.

Will build up test network this week. How did you find the application process?

Well here I am 9 Months later and this baby is overdue.

I seem to be having some trouble talking GIS as I'm getting a 403 Error from the iPass client, using default hotspot directory so all xml is still intact. Any further insights to share?

:-)
